Golder Baah
Golder is a senior at Virginia Tech pursuing a degree in Multimedia Journalism and minor in Cinema. For the final project, Golder worked on the Mini-Doc Story and wrote the hard news text story titled “Food assistance at Virginia Tech.” To produce and edit the mini-doc story Golder captured b-roll and interviewed two sources at the 209 Marketplace. For the text story, Golder interviewed two sources, researched information, captured photos, and wrote the story. Golder also collaborated with the other team members to create and design the project website and presentation.
Nicole Tutino
Nicole is a senior at Virginia Tech pursuing a dual degree in Multimedia Journalism and Fashion Merchandising & Design. For the final project, Nicole worked on the Explainer Story and wrote the hard news text story titled “Extreme weather impacts individuals without shelter.” To produce the Explainer Story, Nicole captured b-roll at different affordable housing sites in Blacksburg, located relevant stock footage and images, created motion graphics, researched information to prepare the script, filmed a stand-up, recorded a voiceover, and edited the video together. For the text story, Nicole interviewed three sources, researched homelessness in Virginia, captured photos, and wrote the story. Nicole also collaborated with the other team members to create and design the project website and presentation.
George Waters
George is a senior at Virginia Tech majoring in Multimedia Journalism with a double minor in Entrepreneurship – New Venture Growth as well as Social Change and Leadership. For the final project, George researched and authored the Data Visualization piece on poverty in Virginia and contributed to the Mini-Doc story through interviews, capturing footage, and storyboarding the final product. George also worked with the rest of the team on the final project’s website and presentation.
Emaryi Williams
Emaryi is a senior at Virginia Tech pursuing a degree in Multimedia Journalism with a minor in Theatre. For the final project, Emaryi worked on the Explainer Story and wrote the feature news text story titled “Local nonprofit helps community with low-cost pet care options.” To produce the Explainer Story, Emaryi drove to different affordable housing options in Blacksburg, researched information to prepare the script, interviewed Virginia Tech professor Andrew McCoy, filmed a stand-up, recorded voiceovers, found stock images and helped edit the video together. For the text story, Emaryi traveled to Roanoke to interview two sources with Angels of Assisi, researched information, captured photos and wrote the story. Emaryi also collaborated with the other team members to create and design the project website and presentation.
