Our topic for the Digital Newsroom: Online final project is poverty in Southwest Virginia. Be it low-income status, homelessness, food insecurity, student hunger — we explain different ways poverty is present in the New River Valley and Roanoke regions, what may have caused the poverty rates, as well explore resources to help those in poverty.
